BIRTH PREP
FOR COUPLES

Prepare for birth together - with confidence, clarity, and genuine connection. A four-week evening series for couples who want to feel truly ready.

MORE THAN ANTENATAL EDUCATION

There is a difference between knowing about birth and feeling ready for it. Most standard antenatal education covers the information. The stages of labour, what to expect at the hospital, the basics of pain relief. And that information matters.

But information alone does not prepare a body for birth.

What genuinely prepares you - both of you - is understanding not just what is happening, but how to work with it. How to move through the physiology of labour rather than brace against it. How to use breath and positioning and presence to support the process. How to communicate with each other and with your care team when everything is moving fast and the stakes feel high.

That is what this series is built around. Practical, embodied, evidence-informed preparation - taught by a doula who has stood beside more than 150 births and knows, from direct experience, what makes the difference.

2nd + 3rd Trimesters
Multiple Small Group Sessions
Thursdays 5:30 – 7:00pm

A four-week evening series blending practical birth education with embodied tools for labour. Drawing on Sarah's experience supporting more than 150 births, this course supports you to understand what to expect, how to work with the physiology of birth, and how to approach the experience as a grounded and informed team.

Across four evenings, we will explore:

  • Understanding your birth - your environment, your options, your rights, and how to communicate your values clearly with your care team

  • The physiology of labour - the hormones, stages and phases of birth, and how understanding the process transforms your experience of it

  • Working with labour - functional movement, optimal positioning, partner support techniques, breath tools, and natural comfort measures practised hands-on

  • Meeting your baby - transition, the final stages of labour, the golden hour, and what to expect in the tender early days that follow

Investment: $250 for the full four-week series

You will leave feeling informed, deeply connected as a couple, and genuinely ready to trust yourselves through birth - whatever it brings.

  • “If you’re trying to conceive or currently pregnant and striving for a natural, physiological birth, Sarah is a MUST. She gave my husband and me the strength, resilience, and knowledge to push through every obstacle in pregnancy that the hospital system threw up. She helped me believe in myself and trust my body - and her incredible calm energy permeates the room, which was fundamental during my unexpected free-birth.”

    Shelly - First Baby

  • “I felt fearless and empowered despite everything happening much earlier and faster than expected - and I know that is a huge testament to Sarah. I almost gave birth at home because I was so ‘in the zone’, moving through surges using the positions, breath-work, and mindset you instilled in us during class. My wife and I didn’t even realise how far along I was until I was already 9cm, and I gave birth before we reached the hospital.”

    Amy - First Baby

  • “There are no words that describe how valuable Sarah was to our pregnancy and birth. She provided support and education from the moment I engaged her at 12 weeks. I built an incredibly strong bond with her through regular yoga and our prenatal planning sessions. Having Sarah at my birth was empowering - the experience would not have been complete without her. I continue to receive postpartum support through her mums and bubs yoga, and I only hope she can be our doula next time.”

    Emma - First Baby

  • “Sarah provided unwavering pregnancy and birth support in every essence of the word - emotional, spiritual, physical. She brought evidence-based research ensuring I had all the information to make informed choices. Her prenatal classes focused on connection with my baby and trust in my body’s strength. Attending weekly also helped me build a deeper bond with Sarah that I am so grateful for. I will never forget the relief I felt when she arrived at our birth. With her by my side, I had the empowered and beautiful birth I had been envisioning.”

FOR THE PARTNER:

You matter in this birth more than you might realise.

Many partners arrive at birth feeling uncertain. They want to help - deeply - but they are not sure what that looks like when labour is intense and everything is moving quickly.

The partners who feel most useful, most present, and most connected to the experience are the ones who came prepared. Who understood what was happening and why. Who had practised specific techniques with their person beforehand. Who knew how to read the room, how to advocate, and how to hold steady when it mattered most.

This series is as much for you as it is for the woman you love. You will leave it knowing exactly how to show up - not as a bystander, but as a genuine and capable support.

For the PARENTS you are becoming.

Everything is about to change - for both of you.

Not just the practicalities of a new baby and a new rhythm of life, but something deeper. The way you see yourselves. The way you see each other. The extraordinary realisation, somewhere in the middle of it all, that you did this - together.

How you prepare for this birth will shape how you arrive at that moment. The clarity you carry in. The trust you have built - in each other, and in your own collective capacity to navigate whatever unfolds.

That is what these four weeks are really about. Not a checklist to complete before the due date. But a genuine, unhurried preparation for one of the most significant experiences you will ever share.

We would be honoured to be part of how you get ready for it.
